Whenever there is injustice, there are people fighting it with every possible means. We have seen it so many times before: the oppressed rise up, the oppressor dehumanizes them calling them such names as "terrorists", "saboteurs", "death loving" extremists... It is only normal that the oppressor will always lie to justify his actions and its crimes.
What is different in the case of Palestine, is that the Israeli regime has built an effective media and communications networks and campaigns to distort the image of the Palestinian resistance, and that a large portion of the world has believed the Israeli line and hence adopted it. It is our duty to remember and remind the world that the Palestinian freedom fighter is a man, a woman, like any other. He loves his family. She loves her country. They seek a better future.
They are willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of justice and freedom. They waited for the world to lift the blatant injustice that has befallen them since 1948. They expected the world to understand when they took up arms to lift this injustice themselves. Now, they don't care what anyone else calls them. They do not seek anyone's permission, just like any resistance movement. They believe that their cause will be triumphant because it is a cause for justice and humanity. They are merely fulfilling their duty to make the day of justice in Palestine come sooner. So should we.
Where hath the activists gone? Blown by the vuvuzela's earshot? Where hath the fighters gone? Failed to recover from the World Cup fever? Now the critisms are heard no more ! The protestors are seen no more ! Where's the Gaza supporting profile pictures, Gone with the wind?

Egypt destroys 12 smuggling tunnels to Gaza
El Arish, Egypt.
Egypt destroyed
12 smuggling tunnels into the
Gaza Strip, security sources said
on Saturday.
The sources said the soldiers
involved in blowing up the
tunnels maintained contact with
officials on the Gazan side of the
border, to ensure that no people
were underground during the
process.
The tunnels were found at
various points along the Sinai
Peninsula's small border with
Gaza.
Following the deaths of nine
Turkish activists in late May who
were part of a flotilla aiming at
breaking the blockade on the
coastal territory, Israel and
Egypt have slightly relaxed the
embargoed goods into Gaza.
Israel now lets in more food
items and some construction
materials, but the building
supplies are only for the United
Nations, leaving regular Gazans
dependent on the tunnels for
numerous items.
The blockade on Gaza was
tightened after the Islamist
Hamas movement took control
of the territory in 2007. Since
then all exports have also been
banned and this has yet to be
lifted.
Egypt has kept its border
crossing at Rafah open since
June, the longest period in the
history of the blockade, to allow
Palestinians with the
appropriate paperwork to cross
back and forth, though many
say they are still denied
movement.
